This morning we left the rehab at 6 am and arrived a few minutes later at the hospital.
Kayla had a CT scan. We do not have the results of that. That will be sent to the neurosurgeon in Syracuse.
At about 1 PM they did a scope of her throat which looked good. Her vocal cords are not damaged. The doctor decided not to take the trach out at that time but he did put in a smaller size. Tonight they capped it with a valve and she is doing fine so he will probably take the trach out in the morning. Since this doctor had never seen Kayla before he is being cautious.
Peter says she is up to her old tricks trying to get the brace off her arm so she can scratch her head. Peter and April are with her at the hospital and they have a sleeping room near the PICU for the night.
Kayla should be back at Rehab by tomorrow night.
