Sorry for the long time in between posts.
Kayla is doing well in school. Two weeks ago I went to her school and met the director of special ed from Mt. View there. She was there to delivery Kayla's new lap top touch screen computer. It is going to be an awesome tool for her. This weekend she had a four day weekend and was allowed to bring her computer home.
When I visited the school, Kayla's teacher and the aide told me that in school they do not use the wheelchair in the classroom. The aide helps Kayla to walk. I also spoke to the Occupational therapist. She is working with Kayla on letters and phonics and was starting with a new program set to music.
So Kayla continues to make progress each day with little steps. As soon as we get her a bathing suit they are going to take her into the therapy pool at St. Joseph's outpatient therapy center.
