Today they got Kayla up into her wheelchair and then they stretched her legs, now that the casts are gone. She did very well. Some of the time I could tell it hurt but that is ok. They have to get the legs moving. When they got her out of the wheelchair and back to bed she stood on her right leg with alot of support but it is a start.
She ate well for me at breakfast, not so good at lunch. I do not think she likes the pureed pork for supper. I thought it was going to be pureed ham but was not. Now that we can pick her meals we need to learn which pureed things she likes best. She does very well with pudding and applesauce, mashed potatoes.
The procedure to check her throat and remove the trach is scheduled for Monday. She will leave rehab at 6 am. She will probably be at the hospital for two or three days.
Peter and April have been home for a few days to spend some time with Madison and they will be back on Saturday sometime.
