Today we went to Kayla's school for an IEP (individual education plan) meeting. She had mostly met all the goals that we established in December so it was time to move forward. They are very happy with her progress.
Today they were talking about weather and what a nice day it was outside. Kayla said, "I need to go outside." So the aide took her outside to enjoy the chilly but fresh air. She has begun to put words together in short sentences.
In physical therapy her progress is a little slower. When she gets tired she just stops cooperating. But she is "walking" with maximum assistance( one PT on each side and helping to move the right leg) 20 ft three time per session. Hopefully with much repetition the right leg will learn to move without help.
Last night I was able to get her to say "granny" while I was babysitting so Peter and April could go to a meeting for the fire company. She is very generous with hugs and kisses. She will go to school until June and then for 6 weeks in the summer. I need to find out how to continue with therapies even when she does not have school.
