Nov. 30 - 9 PM

Kayla enjoyed her Thanksgiving dinner. She ate turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing. That's right, regular food, not pureed either. She is eating very well to the point they have cut back on the tube feeds. We are hoping to eliminate the small tube feeds during the day so that when she starts school we will not have to send her feed pump and other things with her.

This afternoon I stayed with Kayla and Madison while Peter and April took care of some business. I handed Kayla a Cheetos and she ate it in small bites. She has a sippy cup with two handles and she drinks by herself.

Plans continue for her to start school later this week. We are hoping that everything will be in place. She will start with half days until we see how much she can tolerate.

Oh yes and when Peter got home and asked her what she wanted for dinner she said "ummm". It was very clear so she was thinking about it and I am sure wanting to say exactly what she wanted so hopefully with the right teaching she will be talking by Christmas.

So if you are not too busy, let's concentrate our prayers on that specific thing right now. I am sure it would help with her frustration if she could tell us how she is feeling and what she wanted and I know it would be a great blessing for Peter and April when she can communicate her needs. Please Infant Jesus give Kayla the power of speech for Christmas. That would be the greatest gift for this family.

  3. Sounds like being at home is just what Kayla needed. I am so happy to hear how well she is doing. Please tell her I am proud of her and I can't wait until she comes down south a little ways to visit us! This is such exciting news. God bless Kayla and her whole family :o)
