Kayla went on a journey today. She traveled by wheelchair van. She had an appointment at rehab in Bethlehem with the doctor. They let her rest in a bed for a hour or so and they gave Peter lunch. Then they traveled about 20 minutes to Allentown for a wheelchair clinic to be measured for her custom wheelchair.
Kayla tolerated the travel well. She did get a little restless on the way home, mostly because she needed to be changed. When she got home around 4 PM. Peter put her to bed and she has been asleep ever since.
Also she should be starting with regular physical therapy sessions on Monday with occupational therapy and speech to start soon.
We are waiting for a safety harness for the car and also a shower chair and a lift to help April transfer her. These things had to be oked by medicaid and then ordered. Hopefully they will arrive soon.
