Sept. 10 - 8:40 AM

I am sorry for the delay in posting. I was spending alot of time with Kayla. Her routine is pretty much the same from day to day. She usually has physical therapy and school in the morning, then a nap, then some occupational therapy and recreational therapy.

Things are moving along for her discharge on Sept. 15th. We have a meeting at the rehab with the representative of our school district, a rep from the nursing agency, rep from medical supplies company on Friday.

Today the builder, Kintner Homes, is replacing the sliding glass doors on the back of Peter and April's home with a 36" wide entry door to allow access for Kayla's wheelchair. We are paying for the door and Kintner Homes is installing it at no cost to us.

Friday Kayla will also receive her "loaner" wheelchair, then in about 10 days after that she returns to Bethlehem to the wheelchair clinic for a custom fit.

Her surgery for the bone flap is still about 6 weeks away. It takes 4 weeks to manufacture the piece to replace the bone. It is a synthetic material that will fuse to the bone. Then I figure it will take a week or two to schedule the surgery.

For Kayla's comfort at home, we are considering getting a recliner for their living room so if anyone in our area knows of someone who might be getting new furniture and would like to donate a used one that is in good shape, please let me know.

Thank you all for your continued prayers. In the near future we will be establishing a concentrated intention time, more on that later as I learn more about it.
