Kayla spent about two hours in her wheelchair this morning. Then the rehabilitation doctor came in and spent a half hour checking everything. They are just giving her liquid feeds thru her tube. This afternoon the speech therapist tested her swallowing ability. She ate a little applesauce. Even though she was eating pureed foods in the hospital they will not start her on those here until Monday until they do their own evaluation. She seems comfortable. It is certainly a better atmosphere than the hospital and they will be working with her every day.
