Today marks 3 weeks since Kayla's accident.
Last night she went the whole night without the vent, this means she is breathing on her own, even when sleeping...excellent news!
This morning when the nurse came in and said Good Morning Kayla, she opened her eyes and turned her head towards the nurse - more good news as she had not been turning her head.
They plan to do some therapy today - they are going to beat on her chest - to loosen everything up.
They also plan to get her into a wheelchair today, it will be a reclining wheel chair, as she doesn't have full upper body strength/control back. They will also put a helmet on to protect her head since she still has the skull flap removed.
Please continue to pray for Kayla.
Also the little boy I mentioned a few weeks ago, Colton from Texas - you can see his blog, there is a link on the right towards the bottom.
And a friend of a friend of mine, Scott was in a serious car accident on Friday and has a major brain injury. Please keep them all in your prayers.
Good Job Kayla! Keep it up! ~Mrs. Naegele
