June 18 - 9:15 pm

Again it was another slow day for Kayla.

Ok so I'm going to try and explain one thing they did today...hopefully I can explain it so you can understand.

The drain for the fluid build up in/around her brain is a tube that attaches to a bag on a pole. It works with gravity, so the bag had been low on the pole. Today they moved the bag up, to see if there wasn't as much fluid draining how things would go. The intracranial pressure (ICP) remained pretty much the same, this is very good news, as her body has the ability to maintain and keep the ICP stable, hopefully this will continue as such.

Other than that there is really not much new to report. I hope you all understand that we are not posting the what they may do and what comes next until it is definite.

Just spoke to mom moments ago - Kayla is trying to open her eyes more. Not really focusing on anything, but really trying hard.

  1. I think about Kayla every day and check this blog to see how she is doing. I am glad that things seem to be getting better (slowly, but surely they seem to be getting better)....I pray she will continue to heal.

Unfortunately one of my students from last year was hit by a car today. He is 5 and he is in critical condition. I pray that he and Kayla will make full recoveries!
